Garfield Run

The weekend had been great.
Tried out a new recipe, catch up some episode of 'Return of Superman', Garfield run, finalise our wedding pictures, dinner with parents and a good date with love before the dreadful Monday arrives again.

Wanted to come back to do some work cos I receive an email about some dumb last minute meeting tomorrow.
I kind of regretted my choice every time I think of it.
Maybe there's just too much on my plate: My wedding, a new place (there's hell a lot to do compared to the wedding), a new appointment at work, endless workload and project. I try not to remember that my studies will begin in 3 weeks time.

I took on a new appointment at work because I wanted to try something new, and it's quite dumb cos there's no monetary rewards perhaps just some satisfactory moment each project is done. But that means ALOT of additional hours of meetings which I deemed pointless and a total waste of time.
Perhaps I feel this way cos my heart and brain is always preoccupied with the house and the wedding. The wedding planning has been placed aside, and all our focus is on the house. Who would have thought planning of a house could be that hard? So much thought is put into even where to place a wire, which bulb to buy. Actually WC has been doing most of it while I did the damn job about buying things from Taobao.
It's cheap but reading those chinese words and figuring out which shipping method and company to use is damn hard. I believe we saved quite a fair bit buying from there, but it's definitely at the expense of tonnes of frustration and argument. I even got nightmare about shopping from there! It doesn't help that I am such an impatient person, working so much but yet everything seems half done. FML. I tried not to lose my temper but I don't know why I got so frustrated easily. Then I got guilty cos WC got all the shit from me and blah blah it goes on in a vicious cycle.
Think I am forming this intense love-hate relationship with our house.
But not going to give up! Think it will just get better :)

I hate the feeling I feel inadequate in my work, yet have to represent my department in presenting all those crap that I don't even know what I am talking about.
It's taking up so much of my time I lose the drive to be efficient. I can be in the middle of some stuff and I just take a break to check if my loots from TB have arrived. End up everything is undone.
I think I don't really have much of a choice now.
I am not a quitter so I just have to suck it up and do all the shit I have to do. Perhaps it will get better when I get the hang of it or be more focused on it when all my wedding stuff and home prep is ready.
LAO NIANG ONLY WANT TO GET MARRIED NOW AND NOT WORK! lol.

Ok enough of ranting. It's supposed to be about the Garfield Run.
If you survived all my ranting, here's the photos! LOL.

WC's friend introduced him to the Garfield Run so he suggested we go since we have not done something like that together before. Plus the fact that he wanted the medal for us. haha.
Did I mention that I don't like running? (I think my max was 3km though WC keeps insisting that I have done more than that before).

The only time Garfield appeared.

Really Garfield Run. Everyone was taking photo before the starting point. That includes us!

Mandatory shot before the start of the run.

Halfway through the race still can take photo. Haha.
The medic located at that point was damn suay. So many couples approached her to take photos cos the Singapore Flyer is behind.

We looked damn slack but we really ran ok?
Some couples walked throughout. #likeagarfield

And cos it's a couple race, we actually held hands to complete the last 100m of the race.
Cliche but quite sweet la. Heehee.

They even had loads of free food from the sponsors after the race.
Since the couple run was before the 3km fun run (with loads of families and kids), we got our food without much queuing. Yay!

Damn excited to take photo with our childhood mascot.
Favourite snacks when I was young. Actually now also!

Still got pencil paddlepop!

We are in a jolly mood after the run.
First time see everyone so happy after a fun. Must be the Garfield- effect.

Face damn fat here.
But it's the only photo of our medals. And I can't believe how lousy S5 camera is under low light. Pui.

We queued the longest for this!
But no regrets :)
Not sure if I will go for another run again, but I definitely had a great night with WC yesterday.
Maybe like what Serene says, "love is blind".
Haha because only WC managed to persuade me to join a run which my friends had failed in our decade of friendship.
Who knows what is he capable of doing next? ;P

The tulip mania and spiderman

Don't judge this plate of black stuff by its appearance. It's damn good.
We wanted to grab some food before we head to Gardens By the Bay but everywhere was packed with tourists
Settled for the food republic in MBS but the food is so expensive lo.
This is the famous fried hokkein mee I was introduced to when I was in KL.
Haha texted my girls immediately cos it brought back so much memories and first thing Serene said was 'When's the next outing?"

Obviously this was half as good but twice as expensive, not to mention WC queued 30 minutes for two plates of this.
You seldom see the man getting angry and when he did, you know they must have really pissed him off.

Not a flower fanatic especially when you still have to spend money to see flowers.
But I am so glad we went. $12 pax for a different date (made better with the aircon and flower scent), there's nothing better to ask for!

I swear I spammed WC's phone with pictures of flowers cos they are so pretty.
Now his phone contains only mainly photos of either flowers or his robots at work, maybe with 1% of my face in it =_=

We took so many pictures of the flowers I need to make collages of them.
So happy now even just looking at them :)

Let me intercept a few of our pictures and marvelled at the wonder what Beauty Face can do. LOL.
I look like a multi-tasking monster busy taking photos while doing selfie. FML.

And stupid things we do.

Felt so happening that day, cos we decided it was cool to watch a blockbuster the first day it was released.

I managed to sit through 2.5h, but it's not difficult for a $230 million budget movie.
The plot feels superficial and much of the special effects lack the WOW impact.
It's like you see a tank of electric eels, obviously the villain is electro man right?

But there are times that made you go awww.
I am not really a superhero fanatic, but I guess he has to be my favourite amongst all.

Why? Simply because he gives people hope.
But then again, superheroes are many a time not a good lover.
Because they have so much on their plate, it became hard to keep to their promise as much as they wanted to.
Like how he promised Gwen Stacy he will try and the next moment she is dead.

That's why 平平凡凡也是一种幸福.
A simple to understand yet difficult to achieve goal in life.
Reminded me of a quote I saw on Instagram the other day which I found really meaningful:

“The only time you look in your neighbor's bowl is to make sure that they have enough. You don't look in your neighbor's bowl to see if you have as much as them.”  ―Louis C. K

ME- Time

Been wanting to update about CNY for some time but I can't really find the time to do it.
(Ok fine, that's an excuse. I have been digressing from what I want to do lately :( )

Work has been pretty busy these days. It seems endless.
And having three assignments due in two weeks doesn't really help.
Plus my mind is constantly thinking about many ad hoc matters about our wedding.
Not to mention my roller coaster emotions that comes once a month.

I need to correct the normal saying that there are much to do for a wedding.
Because it's a once in a lifetime event, you keep researching for more because you only want the best.
They ended up really unsettled and I HATE unsettled problems because they made me really frustrated.
I am such a chopchop currypok character.

I get frustrated ==> Become indecisive ==> Don't know how to prioritse cos everthing feels important ==> Gets more frustrated.

And the vicious cycle continues.

So yesterday, I decided to drop all work and head out for some ME Time.
Refused to do any work (though my assignment is due next Tuesday).
I. JUST. WANT. TO. GO. SHOPPING!

ALONE!!!

I enjoy the ME-time at times going window shopping, doing my manicure, or even dropping by Yakun or Starbucks for a cup of coffee, surfing blogs and facebook and even just stoning into thin air.
Doing what I want without having to speak or relate to anyone.
They miraculously made me feel better after that.
The occasional bagging in of a good buy or something I like makes me even happier! Haha.

Some people fear doing things alone, or they don't want to be labelled as anti-social and lonely.
To me, it's perfectly fine.
I can't do it all the time, cos everyone needs company.
But I do believe everyone needs their ME-Time.

Don't get me wrong.
WC has been really supportive and understanding.
Things would have been much worse without him.

In fact, meeting him for dinner and having some random conversations is something I look forward to at the end of each day.
Sometimes, I wonder how anyone could be so patient with me.
At times, I would just call him and tell him all the stuff we have not done and began this whole cycle of frustration and ranting at him.
I would have flare up if I were him, but he would just stay by my side and comfort me.

On a happier note, it's the weekend again!
BBQ at WC's place later, annual dinner at my girls' and aunt's place and I am more or less done for CNY!
Have a good weekend all! :)
