Strangers' Reunion

My dear friend just returned from her Sri Lanka and I can't wait to hear all about her adventure.
Decided on Strangers' Reunion because I was so tempted by all the pretty posts and review of it on Instagram.
A pretty short walk from Outram MRT abeit the drizzle.

Love how unpretentious the place look, with Chinese water painting in the midst of the aromatic coffee and eclectic design. They fit surprisingly well though.

I am not a fan of brunch, so was there mainly for the waffle.
It's one of the better waffles in town, love the airy waffle that blends in so well with the creamy buttermilk ice-cream.

Our first try at spam fries but they fail us badly :(
Too thick and soggy for spam fries and it tastes exactly like the 午餐肉 my mummy always make to go with plain porridge.

But this makes up for it.

And of course a pretty coffee to complement the rainy weather :)

We never run out of stuff to talk about.
Talking about putting two introverts together. Hehe.
By the time we remember a photo together, we were done with our food already.
Because it got pretty crowded by noon, we headed to some random coffee place for another drink and unknowingly chatted till 4 before we left.

And since we are talking about food, another food haunt that we will definitely go back again for the cake.
The Mille Crêpes at Lady M is to die for!
I thought the one at Paris Baguette was good but this was 10 times better! There is a tinge of burnt caramel in every mouth we bite into.
WC is already asking me to get that as his birthday cake next year. LOL.

My current obsession.

And a very cute thumbdrive that WC got for me from Mos Burger :)
Just have to spend $15 and make purchase using NETS.
I guess there is only very limited stock cos we purposely headed down to two branches before we got it!

A date to Pasarbella

Both WC and I were on leave on Monday so we decided to head down to the Grandstand for a Pasarbella date.
It was a long walk in but it's definitely worth checking it out.
I love how you feel that you are not in Singapore the moment you set foot in there, with the array of fresh flowers, seafood and meat.
How apt :)

The tagline says: "Find your husband here." Haha

Every corner is so picture worthy. Even the toilet.

We tried the Yaroa because the crackling roast pork was SOLD OUT and the next batch was only available 2 hours later :(

It consists of 3 meat dishes with 1 side.
It tastes really good and I thought a generous portion like this is worth the $12 we paid.

There's always room for desserts after that!

I was feeling really sleepy after the food and wanted to head straight home for my bed(probably cos I am still recovering from the work trip heehee).
But the rain was so heavy we were trapped in Turf City.
Refusing to walk anymore, we headed to Pie and Coffee for some food again!

Love the cosy setting, the only reason I refused to step in was they were having a 1-for-1 for their pies.
Seriously, you only find such good deals on a weekday but I was just too full to stuff another pie into my stomach.

We had the cheddar chicken and duck confit pie. Really good! :)

Doing what he loves most. STONING. hahaha

A picture with my happy pill <3

Headed home to sort out some picture for our childhood montage and see what WC did to my photo.
He says now this is my caller ID picture.

Ending the post with a giant bear we spotted in.. Giant!
Have a good week!

Food Fiesta!

I have been eating ALOT recently.
My secret plan to go on a detox diet has been postponed week after week.
Hahaha in fact it has not happened before! Mehhhh

Marmalade Pantry with MGS. But that's the only food picture we have because 6 out of 7 of us opted for the crabmeat pasta. LOL

The truffle fries were so good that we decided to order sweet potato fries which were equally good!
Just a note, they are not in the menu.

Headed over to Krispy Kreme cos we wanted to surprise our pregnant colleague as she has cravings for it.
The queue was so long though it's just 3+ in the afternoon.
Wonder how much they earn when each doughnut is a freaking $2.60++

And WC satisfied my craving for steamboat fnally at HotPot Culture.
My favourite when I have a craving and not willing to spend too much on food :)

Look what we found at MS Claw Machine. So cute right?
It's always a battle of rationality (mine) vs irrationality (his). Teehee.

Wanted to bring WC to try out the Japanese food at Cuppage Plaza but too bad it was closed.
Since I was craving for ramen, WC recommended me this pretty rundown shop at level one.
Gyoza no Ohsho is a simple ramen place similar to a coffeeshop.
They were pretty crowded during lunch time but food was delivered rather quickly.

The ramen was really good. I find the noodle a little overdone but the soup was one of the best I had tried.
I almost finish the soup though the noodle was only half gone.

Besides the noodle, the fried rice and gyoza weren't that fantastic.
Too soggy rice and the gyoza has a "porky" taste which I dislike alot. Argh..

And on Sunday, WC picked me up after Clarence's luncheon.
I love attending weddings and they always leave me teary with their montage and speech.
I love soaking up in the lovey dovey atmosphere where family and friends gather together to celebrate this day of love.
It was the first luncheon I attended and I would say it's as good as any wedding dinner I attend.
Happy because I will be having a wedding luncheon myself! Hahaha.
By the time we ended our movie, it was already 9 plus.
I randomly suggested 海底捞 and WC immediately went to make reservations.

So glad that we went because its good service and shiokadoodoo variety topped our steamboat list immediately!

The bill came up to a whooping 90bucks but look at how much we enjoy ourselves.
I personally feel that the food is reasonably priced for the quality they give but about a fifth of the cost goes to sauce and drinks ($7 pax!) which I feel was the main cause of the hefty price!

WC couldn't stop raving about the place and even when I asked him to pose with the hideous looking apron, he did it with no complaints. LOL.

Many backlog to update.
Till then...
