The fault in our stars

Ended the weekend in tears.
Because I got to watch The Fault in Our Stars!

I was craving for steamboat so we had our craving satisfied at the usual hangout.
It's so sad that there aren't many good steamboat around now. We used to go Bugis or Crystal Jade but the variety is getting lesser and the price keeps increasing :(

We weren't fans of John Green but decided it's a movie we wanted to catch.
I texted Bella a picture of our stubs cos she had been asking us to watch the show ever since she knew they were making it into a movie.

B: Can I have your stubs?
Me: I thought you watch already?
B: Cathay does not print out the whole title of the show ( I didn't even realise that)
Me: Ok lo.. But GV tears the stub.
B: Can you ask them not to tear your stub? Or maybe tear a small corner?
B: Then can my sis have the other stub too? Think we are going to frame it up.

Hahahaha super hardcore can!

The movie was good though the book was better.
You seldom see WC wanting to watch a movie the second time.
We love how true and realistic they portray love to be.
Love isn't always about happy ever after.  It allows you to feel both pain and happiness so we can learn to treasure it more.
And perhaps impeding death allows the characters to love without any fear and love with all their might, that's why you don't doubt their love and how much they love.

I told WC I won't cry since I didn't cry when reading the book, but from the scene when Aus was dying, my tears couldn't stop flowing after that. Damn touching la.
Love all the quotes!

WC's favourite quote. Haha.
I blog about Saturday OK?

OK.
(Got it? Cheap thrill to the max hahahaha)

*************

And Saturday was date night with WC's buddies.
We had a 3.5 hr Todai buffet in a VVIP room. (The manager made it sound like we were supposed to feel honoured that they are placing us inside. Hahaha but ok lo.. Nothing special)
We didn't eat that much though we had a really long buffet.
The spread wasn't exactly that fantastic for the $80 we paid, but I love the company!

There's always so much laughter and joke around with them :)
Most importantly, I love to see how happy the mister is during the meetup cos time doesn't permits them to meet up as often.
Can't wait for our place to be ready so we can host them!

Headed off for pool after that. The guys played and the girls chatted. Haha.
Feel so old school. The last time we head to a pool hall was in secondary school.

Food overload.: Grandma's Kitchen. Seafood dinner. L'etoile

Allow me to share my joy!
Woohoo I am finally done with all my projects and essays!
These weeks have been really draining and I swear I need to pamper myself with some proper grooming cos I was too tired to even mask the past weeks.
Just wanna concuss on my bed every time I reach home.

4 modules down so far, 6 more to go! zzzzz.

Met up with my ladies for a movie date.
Honestly, not a movie I will choose to watch but it's a good change once in a while :)

It was a Hindi movie and it was pretty refreshing for a change.
You see the difference in culture and how men is always portrayed as the most important in the family.
All I can say, the show overthrow a saying: the way to a man's heart might not be through his stomach.  hahaha.

But we definitely need a good meal to fill our stomach after the show!
First time at Grandma's Kitchen.
About $125 for these four dishes, I doubt I will come back again.

A drink at Queen and Mangosteen.
All time favourite!

WC and I headed for some BBQ seafood cos we were craving for some "big-fire" dishes with hot steaming rice.
We are not those fine dining restaurant couples perhaps only during special occasions.
Hahaha we like zichar with many dishes!

All the restaurants were so crowded in Vivo, we decided to head to this food village outside St. James.
And the only store open at 7 was BBQ seafood!
Damn shiok! And it's less than $50 for all these. Except we had a cup of coke each for $2.30 that I am not very happy about. Roarrrr.

We caught Rio 2 after that and I thought it was a pretty decent movie though the review was not very good.
One of the scenario that I laughed so hard was 2 tortoise trying to High 5 each other.
Geddit? Heehee.

And if seafood dinner on Saturday was not enough, hohohoho!

And we had to rush home after that cos there's a big match between Liverpool and Man City.
Now it has already been a default that we are watching all matches if together if possible.
Haha he used to ask me if I want to watch, not anymore!

But I am not complaining cos it can be quite fun.
No point for guessing who won!

Dinner with Jia yesterday at L'etoile.
I quite like the laid back ambience and decoration till a group of people entered and got a little noisy.
Not complaining cos a cafe is meant to be noisy la!
Turned out it was some event for the bloggers, haha and I could identify some of them!
Was telling Jia cos she was back facing them, and she was like "orhhh.. the underboobs arh?"
Hahaha you will get it if you follow Xiaxue's dayre.

It was a fries overload night.
$12 for this overflowing plate of fries

And this beef sandwich is sucks!
I can make a better one than this lo.
But I choose to think it's because we ordered the wrong dishes, will head back to try others if I am in the vicinity again.

Till the next, which is soon! Haha

Korean BBQ date: Han Geun Doo Geun Korean Restaurant

Went for a Korean BBQ dinner with my colleagues on Monday.
Elaine has been raving about a Korean BBQ at Chinatown Point so we decided to head there for a try!

I love the idea how everything is free flow there. Haha.

For $40 pax, I feel that it is worth the variety but not the quality.
But for a casual gathering, it's pretty worth the value:)

But look at the cruel reality after our meal!
Fats fats and more fats! Hahahaha

Food with Friends

It has been some time since YH and I met up.
There is always some last minute hiccup and we have to postpone our meeting.
So we finally met up for a meal last Thursday!

And NEL-ers love meeting along NEL.
My first time trying!
It was really crowded for a small cafe.
Very quaint and cosy but I don't think I will come back again unless my friends ask me along.
Too crowded and I find the food pretty normal in my opinion.

Been craving for truffle fries!

This one that YH order was reallly good!

My crab pasta. Nothing special about it.
The tomato paste overpowers the crab flakes :(

And guess who came along? Haha

We headed to Ice Edge Cafe after that for a chat cos Lola was really hot because of the large crowd.
Would have stayed longer if we don't have to work the next day.
It's always nice to know friends who will take time to meet up though we are so busy with our work.
So engrossed in our work that we forgot a picture again :(
Can't wait for our plan to work out soon! Heehee

WC had to work late these days but he never failed to meet me for a meal whenever he can squeeze out some time :)
I was craving for my favourite Hokkien mee and look at what we have!
I was having my oce-in-a-blue-moon craving for that Nasi Lemak and pfft.. so angry.
This plate of Nasi Lemak costs us $6.30!
I am always stuck in an emotional struggle whenever I eat it. "Shall I be a sucker and pay for it or just suppress my craving for it?"
Haha eat a Nasi Lemak also must think so much! >.<

Brunch with my ladies on Saturday.
This time round, we headed to Department of Caffeine.
I am really not a person for brunch- To wake up earlier on a weekend and eat some waffle and sandwich.
Haha I make it sound like it's a chore but I always enjoy trying out new places. Especially with close friends.

They took really long to serve our food, but I would rather say they take their time to produce good and quality food.

I wanted to try something different. Haha but I always ended up eating the same stuff.
So glad I stick to my choice.

And Bella will always have her waffle too!
We had a sweet and savoury waffles. Yummm!

My ladies <3
They were scaring me with all the wedding preps which I keep thinking I still have lots of time to do.
I am glad they are there with me through this process and will be with me on my big day!

Anyways, it's my gown fitting day tomorrow!
I am really excited though I haven't really settled a design I like.
Really hope that they have some designs that we like tomorrow!

Last week of CNY

Last week of CNY update!
A few more of the usual gatherings before the CNY comes to a close :(

Just realise it's all pictures of food!
Plus a few picture of a bunny T_____T

So our weekends were all about bingeing at people's place.
WC's mum made us tepanyaki lunch!
I love how much effort she always put into her food preparation (that explains why he is such a sucker when he sees some novelty in food! hehe)

Eat at home also lay out until so nice!

And at night, we headed over to Lena's place for our yearly steamboat dinner.

With my favourite girlfriends

The usual gang :)

Special dessert prepared by Bella and her sister for the night.
Everything handmade from scratch!

And look what I received from Bella and Gen!

It was such random gifts.
Bella bought me a baby shirt when I am nowhere near getting pregnant ( just cos I am her only friend that is getting married recently zzz)
And they started telling Lena's grandma that I am pregnant so the grandma went on and on to say that it is good that I am pregnant early cos she was already with a few children at 24!
That made us all roar with laughter. Old people are so open minded nowadays meh?
And I am more old fashioned than an ahma!

The pair of Cony and Brown wedding dolls were from Genevieve,
She knew that WC and I are fans of Cony and Brown and since we are having our photoshoot next week, she passed me as soon as she got it.

I received a message from Serene the other day.
She wanted to help me do my makeup for my photoshoot cos she's super pro at it.
It's like at 6 in the morning and she didn't mind it at all.
Seriously, I have never expected that from her.
What have I done to deserve friends like them?
I was really touched by their gestures and so glad these childhood friends will be by my side during my wedding! :)

And yesterday was Valentines and also 元宵节.
So we decided to head home and have dinner with our families at home.
Look at the feast my uncle prepared!

And our highlight of the night.
Loser me was hiding behind my cousins throughout cos I was scared of the bunny that was roaming around.
But still, he's so cute!!

Last Lou Hei for the New Year!

Concluded the CNY with a $8 win at Ban Luck and WC winning the $10 million TOTO!(I wish)
Haha a sub prize of $20!
Still very huat!

On a sidenote, we have finalised of AD photographer and videographer!
So happy!!!

Gonna go and get ready for brunch cos WC made booking at East Ocean cos Lao niang has cravings for custard bun! LOL.
