Sally goes to Ho Chi Minh!

Finally a holiday!
This time WC decided that we should tagged along with Sally to Ho Chi Minh City!
We initally booked a 7 days trip to HCM, with the intention to explore another town. But my parents decided to join us at HCM so we ended up spending 7 days here.

Mandatory shot. WC posed for this the first time we went on a holiday together.
And subsequently, we do the same thing whenever we are at T1. Haha.

A good meal is a must before we fly, Sally says.

We didn't have much itinerary planned so it was mainly just roaming around the backpacker's alley.
I was amazed by WC's direction sense.
He knows his ways around since the first day so I just followed around.
No fear of losing my way when he's around :)

Beautiful Saigon at night.

Chanced upon this pho shop which served damn good pho.
Even Sally gives two wings up for it!

In case you are interested :)

The Vietnamese lead a duper chill life and there's nothing much to do at night.
So you see many of them practising martial art, skating etc  at an empty plot near the Ben Thanh Market.

* Lameness alert *

There are many pub along the streets and we decided to do it the Viet style.
Chill on the ground~

No beer for you, Sally

How about some roadside BBQ?

Nothing much to shop in HCM so we went cafe hopping.
Our first cafe at L'uisine recommended by YL.
After coming out den we realised that this was a new branch opened a few month ago.

A very chill place, very much like Singapore's cafe.
Coffee is good and cheap but the cake costs us about $8.

Took this when we came out of the cafe.
I love to see the contrast in lifestyle when you are in Vietnam, but of course that reflects the disparity in income gap :(

The weather in HCM was pretty unpredictable and we were stuck in the rain after being soaked in the hot sun the whole morning.
Pretty adamant to eat French food when we reach Vietnam and we took damn long to find this place after seeing its good reviews online.

Finally at Le Jardin :)
They opened at 6 so we were one of the first few customers there.
Love the outdoor seating but not the flying insects!

Our second French dinner together but look who has to tag along.

Love this salmon spread with bread as a starter. How to remember the name when I can't even read it in the first place. Heehee.

My duck confit.
Oops sorry Sally.

And his tuna steak which he diedie want too finish.

There's always room for desserts :)

This pretty summarise the first two days of our trip, and of course we did not neglect Sally.
Spot her selfie in our HCM adventure :)

Next up.. Cooking class at Cyclorestro!
