My Birthday Staycation at Capri

It has almost been a week since my birthday but I am still in a very- happy- mode because of the fabulous birthday celebrations I got.
Another blissful year had passed, I give thanks to the family and friends who showered so much love on me each and every day :)

I got a birthday staycation for my birthday this year!
And no prize for guessing who is the ingenious mastermind behind it *beam*

I was given a hint after much persuasion.
Starting with the letter C.
Can you guess?
Haha I was much disappointed cos I thought it was Hotel Clover (and I was told to meet at Bugis some more)

WC's choice of accommodation never fails!
This time, we are going to Capri by Fraser :)

A really homely room with our own mini kitchen.
The only flaw if you insist, the sheets were not smooth enough for me. heehee.

I love this place cos it has everything you need, yet it doesn't lose that comfort and coziness you usually lack in a hotel.
Love those big bean bags in their lobby for you to rest on and the themed laundrette room to play in while washing your clothes.
Haha love and I actually went every level to "explore" and had most fun in the foosball and boxing room!

Surprise!! Headed down to Changi City Point to get ingredients for the night's dinner cos my very own Jamie Oliver is going to whip up a meal for me!
One of the reason why we were at Capri :)
See how much food we got!!

I was binging on my favourite chocolate fudge brownie ice cream while my chef was busy at work. Heehee

I call them the Drunken prawns cos they were cooked in Tiger Beer.

Coke Chicken Wing

The chef calls this 'Love Egg'. LOL

It might not be the most sumptuous dinner but it has got to be the most special dinner I ever had.
Only he knows what I want best :)

And if you think the surprise ends here, check out my birthday cake!
(I am still pondering how he can sneak the cake into the room without me realising. I was using the fridge so often cos I expect the cake to be brought in by the hotel staff and not in the fridge all along. HAHHAHAHA. #think too much)

"I helped you edit the picture already so you can post on your blog straight away."
BINGO AGAIN!
It's so scary how he can read me inside out at times. haha

Happy me with my birthday cake:)
The only bad thing about a staycation, no nice makeup and dress for a special day :(

The hotel provided all these plus our tomyum wanton mee to last us through the night.
Hell lots of fun with taboo.
I want to play taboo again!!!

We dragged ourselves out of bed the next morning for a swim despite the hazy weather.
So disappointed to find out the hydro treadmill wasn't working :(
Hohohoho.. while soaking in the jacuzzi, I got my birthday present in the water!
I was so happy the day before I forgot I didn't receive my birthday present.

Maybe not because I forgot, but I already got my best present ever :)

Happy Birthday to Me!!

June has got to my favourite month :D

Cos it's usually holiday time plus it's the birthday month of  many of my favourite people and that includes MY BIRTHDAY!
To me, birthday is easily the most important occasion.
I tried to make the person feels like he or she is the most important that day.
That's why since young, I always have birthday parties and planned silly games and lucky draws with my friends. LOL.
Now that we grow older, an intimate dinner with my loved ones made me feel as loved (and this obviously doesn't include what WC has to do for me! MUAHAHAHA)

My sis kick start my celebration supposedly with a lunch treat at Togi.
But we missed it for some reason so we make up with Su Korean Cuisine at Far East since we were shopping in town.

Pretty good service and good food but the variety is quite limited in my opinion.
Almost everything I wanted on the menu is not available :(

I love how generous they are with the sides.
I had at least two rounds of anchovies and spinach! Yumyum

Happy sis with her Korean craving satisfied!

I suggested Paris Baguette for dessert cos I haven't tried it after hearing so much raves about it.
The cakes were so pretty I don't know which one to choose!

Our crepe cake. Hoping one day I am able to make it!

Thank you Jia for the Korean day treat!
Happy us plus our loots from shopping the whole day :)

And I finally met up with my dearest danjakk at PS Cafe the next day!
We were hoping for a nice ambience for an afternoon chat but the place was packed even on a weekday lunch.
I was perspiring even in the air conditioned room.

How can we miss this? Ordered this though we were super stuffed by our lunch.

My glowing danjakk who was so excited about her upcoming wedding :)
Can't wait for our "mini hens afternoon" before her wedding! Heehee

Yayyy and I got to meet my dearest after that cos he was on half day that day.
So coincidental Corn is meeting Van at PS and we were heading there as well!

Look what I had after my very full lunchie.
To accommodate this photo bomb who was craving for steamboat after being sick for a week *burp*

Can't wait for my surprise Birthday staycation WC has planned for me tomorrow!

Happy Birthday Mummy and Happy Father's Day!

WC finally recovered from his food poisoning and we are out for a date!

Headed down to Bedok CC to support Yuli and Weizhen cos the entrepreneur couples are one step closer to their dream cafe!

See what pretty coffee they make :)

Headed back to WC's home to visit his mum cos she just had an eye operation.
Thankfully aunty is recovering well at home :)

Since it is Father's Day and Mummy's Birthday and mummy is craving for Thai food, we headed down to my favourite Thai restaurant since the family hasn't tried before!

What's the chance both occasion falls on the same day? :)

Yummy as usual, but WC and I had really little since we were still recovering from our phobia for Thai food.
So grateful that WC always make the effort to join us though  can't stomach much food.
Hahaha even Daddy commented WC has lost weight!

Pineapple tart and Kueh Lapis with Oriton School

Took up a Groupon Deal earlier on with Oriton School to learn how to make Kueh Lapis and Pineapple tarts.
Thought it was a pretty good deal at $55 pax and being so ambitious, I was telling WC that I can make them for CNY next year already. MUAHAHAHA.

First disappointment when we head down to the learning centre :(
It was located at Redhill, one of the blocks in the Employment and Employability Institute. For a moment, we feel like we are trying to get some training to get a job!

Excited us while waiting for the course to start!

The materials were pre-prepared to work in fours.

Doesn't feel that hard, just 敲敲打打. But to do 9 layers is tiring enough, let alone 18 layers we were supposed to do.

Me: Chef, our kueh lapis failed leh.
Chef: You never baked long enough. Other groups also never fail. *Continue with Candy Crush*
Me: Chef, I checked. Every group fail.
Chef: Orh. Next time just bake longer lo. *Continue with Candy Crush*
Diaooooooz.

We continued with Pineapple Tart.
See how focused these 贤妻良母 are?
My group was totally drained by the time we reached the 9th layer. Hahaha.

The candy crush chef =_=

Our final product :)

Despite the failed Lapis, it was a pretty enjoyable experience.
Maybe should try out other lessons again!

Dinner with the gang after that.
Looooong time since we last met!
But it's as funny as ever, especially with our dear Mr Thong, "interrogating" him on his love life. LOL.

Dinner was done at Skinny Pizza.
My first time trying (suaku I know) but it was really good!

No frog prince for me please!

Life is good when you don't need to work?
Better still when everyone else is working except you! Heehee.. so not looking forward to go back to work next week.
I foresee a busy time ahead! :(

I went to a place for my staff retreat that I will NEVER EVER go on my own.

Can guess where's that?
.
.
.
.

I rather be single for life than kiss a frog to get my prince charming.. eeeek.

The farm also open up for public tour and has guided tour catered to different age groups.

Look who's here too? Their eyes were glued to the guy holding the frogs despite being baked under the scorching hot Sun.

I was not kidding how disgusted I was at the farm.
Probably cos of my phobia for these slimy green creatures. Haha I was so paranoid when everyone was feasting on their frog leg, I was looking for some frogs which might escape and leap on me at all times.

See HOW GROSS THEY ARE!!!! Freaking huge!

I won't say I didn't learn anything from the tour.
Apparently these tadpoles can stay as a tadpole their whole life and refuse to grow for 16 years! So they lower the water level gradually which forces the tadpole to "transform" and grow.
Even frogs are living in self denial like humans. Haha.

See how huge and gross! I can't help but repay the guide with a look of disgust when he was briefing us about the frog.
And we are supposed to grab these frogs by their armpit and not by their stomach cos my colleagues did and the frogs peed all over him. Arghhhhhh.

While everyone was busy buying frog products and hashima after the trip, I took this.
Haha so I can replace it with chicken and cook my Gongbao Chicken!
