Korean BBQ date: Han Geun Doo Geun Korean Restaurant

Went for a Korean BBQ dinner with my colleagues on Monday.
Elaine has been raving about a Korean BBQ at Chinatown Point so we decided to head there for a try!

I love the idea how everything is free flow there. Haha.

For $40 pax, I feel that it is worth the variety but not the quality.
But for a casual gathering, it's pretty worth the value:)

But look at the cruel reality after our meal!
Fats fats and more fats! Hahahaha

Food with Friends

It has been some time since YH and I met up.
There is always some last minute hiccup and we have to postpone our meeting.
So we finally met up for a meal last Thursday!

And NEL-ers love meeting along NEL.
My first time trying!
It was really crowded for a small cafe.
Very quaint and cosy but I don't think I will come back again unless my friends ask me along.
Too crowded and I find the food pretty normal in my opinion.

Been craving for truffle fries!

This one that YH order was reallly good!

My crab pasta. Nothing special about it.
The tomato paste overpowers the crab flakes :(

And guess who came along? Haha

We headed to Ice Edge Cafe after that for a chat cos Lola was really hot because of the large crowd.
Would have stayed longer if we don't have to work the next day.
It's always nice to know friends who will take time to meet up though we are so busy with our work.
So engrossed in our work that we forgot a picture again :(
Can't wait for our plan to work out soon! Heehee

WC had to work late these days but he never failed to meet me for a meal whenever he can squeeze out some time :)
I was craving for my favourite Hokkien mee and look at what we have!
I was having my oce-in-a-blue-moon craving for that Nasi Lemak and pfft.. so angry.
This plate of Nasi Lemak costs us $6.30!
I am always stuck in an emotional struggle whenever I eat it. "Shall I be a sucker and pay for it or just suppress my craving for it?"
Haha eat a Nasi Lemak also must think so much! >.<

Brunch with my ladies on Saturday.
This time round, we headed to Department of Caffeine.
I am really not a person for brunch- To wake up earlier on a weekend and eat some waffle and sandwich.
Haha I make it sound like it's a chore but I always enjoy trying out new places. Especially with close friends.

They took really long to serve our food, but I would rather say they take their time to produce good and quality food.

I wanted to try something different. Haha but I always ended up eating the same stuff.
So glad I stick to my choice.

And Bella will always have her waffle too!
We had a sweet and savoury waffles. Yummm!

My ladies <3
They were scaring me with all the wedding preps which I keep thinking I still have lots of time to do.
I am glad they are there with me through this process and will be with me on my big day!

Anyways, it's my gown fitting day tomorrow!
I am really excited though I haven't really settled a design I like.
Really hope that they have some designs that we like tomorrow!

Spontaneous Staycation @ Bay Hotel

Weekend is the only time to look forward to now, though it's still about wedding planning and meeting up with ID for our house.
Not complaining cos I am loving it! :)

So after a very fruitless meeting with the ID last Friday, we decided to binge on some nuggets to make us feel better.
Haha look what we got!
Obviously we could not finish, but feels loads better after that.

Favourite pastime.
I always get thrashed nowadays :(
Cao gamer. haha

We had an impromptu staycation on Saturday!
Really spontaneous cos WC did a booking only at 3.. Haha our booking wasn't even processed when we reached the hotel!

No picture of the hotel cos my picture was too dark.
It was a small and quaint hotel, everything was good except it faces a Malay cemetery!
Haha but that gives me an excuse to keep the curtain close at all time cos I love it dark but WC always pull it open cos he loves to chill by the bay window.

Our one and only photo (somemore not a very flattering one) cos the rest of the time was spent doing work, napping and lazing around.

And we had our favourite for dinner! :)
Love the 20% off supper time at Jumbo though it means getting more fat!

And the next day, WC treated me to our monthsary lunch.
I was craving for rice so I had my favourite at Kim Gary.

Feel much better over the well rested weekend.
So thankful that WC is always there to make things a lot easier. I think I would have turned into a grouchy old granny if not for his presence. Hehe.
Thanks for being such an awesome bf <3

The mister's birthday Part II: A wonderful dinner @Aburiya

Because the dinner place was so highly raved by the both of us, it totally deserved a post on its own.
As mentioned, I cancelled off our dinner date at Pelican (Say no to bad service! Ok la.. not exactly bad.. I just don't like "un-thoughtful" service)

So last minute we decided on Japanese BBQ which I am so glad we did.
I made a reservation at 6 but it was empty when we went in.
But the crowd came in soon thereafter, so please make a reservation if you think of dining there!

A cosy little shop with about 10 tables.

We didn't go for the set but did an ala carte order.
LOOK AT HOW GOOD THESE MEAT ARE!

A picture of the happy birthday boy!

A happy me! Haha actually not very nice la.. just that I like my hair in this picture.
One of those rare good hair day moment.

A picture of us! <3

The Mister's birthday: Shaw Premiere and Hai Di Lao

The mister turned 28 :)

Had been putting off our movie date because I planned for our first premiere movie experience together!
Told WC it will be a NEL date so we met at Serangoon.
Since we are so into LINE,these days, I wanted him to guess our plans based on the stickers that I sent him.

And based on the sticker, all he can derived were "ok.. you talk all the time.. irritating, talk rubbish, talkative.."
Wah so that's what he thinks of our conversation daily.

And this represents me just right. LOL.
Because I promised WC I won't get angry at him on his bigday, I just have to sit back and watch him laugh at me. Totally regretted that.
I think seeing me get angry has gradually become one of his favourite pastime.

And a birthday is not complete without a birthday cake!
First time getting from Baskin Robbins and I am so pleased with the wrapping :)
Wait till you see the cake!

So we went to chill at the Premiere lounge before the movie.
Haha WC keeps suspecting that I have gathered some friends to join us but obviously I didn't.
My surprise birthday cake is supposed to be served right after we settled down but I don't know what the staff was waiting for.
So I have to distract the birthday boy by giving him his present first because he knew I will not make do with just a movie. Roarrrr.

Looking all happy with his present!:)

And finally.. the cake!
Can you believe it? They serve it like five minutes before the show time.
So pretty right?
So glad he likes it :)

Happy Birthday my dearest :)

We super duper love the premiere seats. Plus their food is not bad too:)
Feel like eating truffle fries now..

And then we were supposed to head for a "surprise" dinner at 海底捞 with Dexter.
And guess what, Dexter had to text me of all time when he's beside me.
Haha so WC went "don't need to hide already. I saw."

I choose to think that he did consider for 3 seconds not to spoil my plan and pretend that he didn't see.
Sorry but no. FML.
Haha but thankfully all went well and we had a really nice dinner and a very fun yet tiring 2 hr playing games at St Games.

So on the actual day, I brought the boy to Aburiya.
The initial plan was to go Pelican, but I was not very happy with their less-than-personalise service so we did a last minute switch to a Japanese BBQ.
I can be pretty anal when it comes to service.
I am still harping about my proposal incident at Fullerton till today, until WC will roll his eyes every time I talked about it. Heehee.
I called to see if they can arrange a small slice of cake to surprise WC after our dinner.
The manager actually tell me to choose a dessert after our meal and pay so she can add on a candle for me.
Come on, if I am willing to pay $200+ for a meal, will I giam berng that pathetic slice of cake?
It's the personal touch what! Or maybe she doesn't understand the meaning of a S-U-R-P-R-I-S-E. Pffft.

Got to head back for work!
Will update our diner at Aburiya another time.
The food is so good it deserves a post on its own. Heehee.

The week in grid

Instagram is the best way to record what I have done in a week.

Hohoho.. Thanks to WC, we found an ID which we *ahem* like!
(Because I am always full of praises for whichever deal we got at first but then criticise them badly if the deal fall off thereafter. Haha so WC always gives me zero credential for my review.)

And to make things better, we got a really nice dinner at Katong after that!
BKT @ Ng Ah Sio

And desserts after that.
I can't resist waffles especially when I am in a duper high spirit.
And they have some special Kaya flavour that I am so glad we chose!

Lunchie with my colleagues on Friday at Ambush.
Good lunch makes me happy after a hard week at work!

And cos I have to rush off after lunch to meet Gen, I forgot my change after paying.
LOL when I saw this.
I have a love-hate relationship with my friends haha.

See what I mean?
Breakfast on my desk when I returned from the toilet.

Decided to cook something for WC and tried out this teriyaki chicken pizza.
(Plus a can of our favourite Radler hehe)
I swear it taste better than it looks.
Cos I can see from the mister's face :)
And he said we could include it into our future menu!

My mum who is finally and very excited to be on wadsapp!

And a lazy brunch with the sis at Group Therapy :)

One more day to midweek!
Gonna blog about the mister's awesome birthday in awhile! :)
